Oh gosh. I never thought I'd think about how awkward I was again. I think I am a recovering goth.

I started doing the sport jacket over a t-shirt thing when I was sixteen, well before anyone else did. Then that became trendy, so I tried adding a tie. That didn't work out so well, but damnit, I still like my sport jackets.

Whoops.

BUT I love this, even if it was an awkward time (and I promise to do a version of me). Was I talking to you when you had awesome purple hair? I think so. And despite much else, I still love the video you and Ian sent me (was that at 17?). It's one of those things I will never, ever let anyone throw away.

I think it's a testament to the fact that you and I are awesome that I was never a goth or liked anything to do with the fashion or most of the music and yet we still became best friends.

I like the Tool hoodie, back when I was a Senior in High School (1994) I resisted wearing my Tool t-shirt when Maynard James Keenan came to my school to visit his father (my Earth science teacher). I loved Tool but I didn't want to look like a fan-boy so I not only didn't wear my Tool shirt I also didn't ask for an autograph on my Opiate EP cassette tape.
